The challenges you face when trying to lose weight are limitless, but one of the most irritating is a class of people I like to call “food pushers.”
You know what I’m talking about:
- “Oh, but I baked these cupcakes from scratch! You’ve just gotta try one!”
- “Come on, you’ve been on that diet for weeks – you deserve a treat!”
- “One little serving of lasagna won’t kill you.”
What these people (usually skinny minnies who have no idea what it’s like to be overweight) don’t realize is a) it was hard enough to say “no, thanks” the first time — of course you want to eat the delicious food! and b) you’re already fighting those same rationalizations from yourself; it’s double work to have to say no to someone out loud as well.
Just say no to food-pushing, people.

Amen! It’s even worse when you explain to them you are watching what you eat and they continue to push.
That is EXACTLY what made me lose it on a good friend!
Her: Have a cookie!
Me: No thanks, I’m watching my calories.
Her: Oh, just one, they’re really good!

Hear, hear! There are similar challenges with keeping to a budget. Le sigh.
I just read a really interesting article on that topic: http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/snap-food-challenge–1-family—16-per-day-152819355.html
