Race Planning

I’ve been instructed to put together a race plan for Sacramento (which is in 10 days!). I’ve also read that I should have a specific, measurable goal for it… but I’m only on Page 73 and I have not yet figured out the logistics of how to really set one beyond “I’d like to finish in an amount of time I don’t find embarrassing, and to feel good when I’m done.”


Coach Irondad gave me some examples of his race plans, though, and there were some good ones in Slow, Fat Triathlete that I want to take another look at. I guess I do have some ideas about nutrition and what I’ll focus on, performance-wise, during the race, so I’m not completely adrift, just a little out of my comfort zone. Which is somewhere I’m trying to embrace being, so… good. Right? Right.
